Bernie Fossa in the Duesenberg Mormon Meteor
Soon after getting out of the army Bernie Fossa started making an annual
trip to the Indy 500. This tradition is carried on as Glenn Fossa and his
son still make the trip each year. These pictures were taken in 1946 at
the racetrack. Although the Schumacher Special was built before the Mormon Meteor
there are certainly similarities. It helps to explain why Bernie bought the car
in 1951 when his friend was telling him he was crazy.
