Before the start, the trusty steed awaits in the parking lot of the Panorama Hotel, overlooking the hills surrounding Kamloops, B.C.

Above three photos taken Thursday morning about 175km into the trek. The road surface, combined with rumble strip, were about to make the morning a literal pain in the ass. At this point, I was traveling with Brian Wiedle, Chris Wilby, and "Bike Friday" - rider of interesting bike whose name escapes me.

Riding into town in Jasper on Thursday evening. Photo features Brian's back, cool locomotive, and surrounding mountains.

Rolling self portrait on a rainy Friday morning between Jasper and the Icefields.

Stunning scenery approaching the Columbia Icefields. Glacial runnoff forms stream on the right.

View of the Columbia Icefields from the visitor center.

Posing after the exhilarating 75kph descent on the south side of Sunwapta pass.

The peculiar aquamarine hue of the rivers and lakes isn't quite captured by this picture.

Sharp edges of Rocky Mountain peaks look to me like they've just recently been thrust up out of the ground.

Fir trees in the area are extremely narrow. An effect to high winds perhaps? Maybe heavy snowfall?

Grainy photos of ram galloping alongside us as we near Golden Friday at dusk.

Brian's smiling despite the 1185km under our belts on the final stretch back into town.
