Why Was the Car built?

The oral history of the car was passed down to us by Glenn Fossa son of the man who purchased the car in 1951. As the story goes, a son of a wealthy business man had contracted with a car builder in NY to contruct a one off road going monster. He paid a deposit of $10,000 with the remaining balance to be paid at the cars completion. The car took a considerable amount of time to build and when the stockmarket crash happened in 1929 the man was unable to pay for the completion of the car. Because of non-payment the builder ended up completing the car and eventually sold it.
