195?-1954 Packard Factory Continental Kit For Sale

SORRY!!!! SOLD.

UPDATE: We found the bracket that goes on the trunk, so that is included now also. Click on the images for a larger view.

This is a 90% complete kit for installing a continental kit on your early fifties packard. It will definitely fit the 53 & 54 cars and we think it will go on the 52 cars. These pieces were removed from a 53 Carribean in the early 1960s by my dad. He has had them in the garage ever since and is currently in the process cleaning some stuff out. Note that the picture above is what it would look like installed - it is not the actual kit (which is pictured below). There are two items missing. The first is easy to replace - the pan. The early Carribeans had a flat pan (note the picture above shows the later fiberglass pan) that could be fabricated easily using sheet metal and a spare tire hump from a trunk pan. The other missing item is the latch mechanism that goes in the wheel and attaches to a bracket on the trunk. An original one may be tougher to find but perhaps something could be fabricated from an after market kit? You can use your existing bumper as they are the same.

Picture of Everything Included

  1. Hubcap - recent rechrome at a cost of 150.00
  2. Inner tire cover with Packard Script
  3. Chromed outer tire cover - could clean up to driver quality but would need rechrome for show. Couple of dings down low that won't show too bad when the tire is mounted.

  5. Pan support bracket (at bottom of picture)
  6. Complete wheel hinge mechanism (3 pieces)
  7. Trunk latch bracket (Not pictured)
