GMC

For those of you that don't know a Syclone is a V6 turbocharged, all-wheel drive pickup that GMC produced in 1991. They made just under 3,000 of them and the only color available was black. It is the fastest (meaning quickest) production truck ever made despite similar claims by Ford for their Lightning and by Dodge for the SRT-10 Ram. Fact is the Syclone consitnetly ran (by both GM and independant magazines) low 13 second quarter miles in stock trim. To date no other manufacturer can touch that.

Now as with anything I own I had a hard time leaving the Syclone stock. Though in the case of the Syclone everything done is strickly bolt-on and I have all of the original parts stored in original condition. A few of the things I've done are a PTE44 turbo upgrade, Comp Cams roller rockers, MSD Pro-Billet dist & 6A ignition, BBK throttle body, EGR delete, Ultimate Version 7 computer chip, 50 lb. injectors, adjustible fuel pressure regulator, custom intercooler heat exchanger and so on. You can check out some pics in the photo album. With these new mods hopefully I will be pulling some faster times than the one in the picture on the right.

The Syclone is also what I took on the 2004 Hot Rod Power Tour. It was a tight ride as the Syclone is a bit small for long distance traveling. But we had a blast and overall it did just fine. Funny it was the only Syclone/Typhoon that did the whole tour though I saw a bunch of them at different stops along the way and met some cool fellow SyTy owners.
